Yorkshire Open Masters Championships 2011

The Yorkshire Open Masters Championships was held on Saturday 14th May and took place in the North Bay Indoor Swimming Pool, Scarborough.

Hartlepool SC Masters only competitor Carol Boagey had a fantastic day entering in eight races making six Personal Best times and picking up seven medals. Carol said “my highlight came when I made the time of 1:19:87 for the 100m Freestyle event.  That’s a life time achievement for me I’ve never been under 1:20:00 in all the time I’ve been swimming and I now feel all my hard work in training is paying off.

Her eight results consisted of; finishing with a top 5 position in the 50m Freestyle event. Going on to pick up a 3rd placed Bronze medal and a new Personal Best time (PB) in the 50m Butterfly.  She picked up four Silver medals in the 200m Freestyle, the 100m Freestyle with  a new PB, the 50m Backstroke with a new PB,  and the 100m Individual Medley also making a new PB.  Carol’s icing on the cake came when she picked up two Gold Medals in the 50m and the 100m Breaststroke events making new Personal Best times in both.
